Sandrine Schaefer
Infested Infested Infested
Endless Bones
In 2003, Sandrine began collecting discarded animal bones. In an attempt to offer these body remnants a proper memorial, she began creating sculptures with them. Each "roast" has a name, an attempt to give these creatures the identity that was stripped from the previous inhabitants of the bones used in each sculpture. Every one is unique and has a distinct character. These creatures overrun Sandrine's studio and also infiltrated themselves into her video and performance work. In 2006, when she adopted a retired racing greyhound there was a great massacre. He ate over 30 of the sculptures. She is still mending their wounds.
