Proceeds from the sale of these pieces will be split equally between the following 3 organizations that are doing important work to fight oppression, take care of vulnerable communities, and inspire new possibilities towards a more just future.
The Design Studio for Social Intervention is an artistic research and development outfit for the improvement of civil society and everyday life. Situated at the intersections of design thinking and practice, social justice and activism, public art and social practice and civic / popular engagement, DS4SI designs and tests social interventions with and on behalf of marginalized populations.
Trans LifeLine is a trans-led organization that connects trans people to the community, support, and resources they need to survive and thrive. Trans Lifeline was founded in 2014 as a peer-support crisis hotline. The Hotline was, and still is, the only service in the country in which all operators are transgender. Because of the particularly vulnerable relationship transgender people have with police, it is also the only service in the country with a policy against non-consensual active rescue.
VINE Sanctuary is an LGBTQ+ led animal sanctuary working with an ecofeminist understanding of the interconnection of all life and the intersection of all forms of oppression. VINE offers refuge to animals who have escaped or been rescued from the meat, dairy and egg industries or other injurious circumstances.
These pieces are from a developing body of work that explores everyday collisions between human and non-human animals in queer urban wilds (gaggle). I am offering 2 sizes and paper qualities to accommodate a variety of price points. All pieces are hand painted with gouache on archival paper and come unframed. Free shipping in the US.
