In Torpor (Pace Investigations No. 5), the work may be witnessed through various fragmented means. In the flesh, through a forgotten webcam located on the Banff Centre campus, through documentation, and memory. During the performance, the artist wears a body cam and also documents the piece through a surveillance camera hidden inside a decoy rock. This particular choice is inspired by webcams that monitor wildlife throughout Canada. This intentional fragmentation creates a performance condition that illuminates the impossibility of a coherent witnessing experience.
